Meet The Team

Danielle Moosajie, Director

Danielle, known to us as Dani, is a social worker with a Masters in Social Policy and Management from UCT who has over 10 years experience working with children and families on the Cape Flats. She’s worked in corporate in the field of change management, lectured and been involved in various community projects.

Dani is a wife to Randall, a mom of three who survives on caffeine and chocolate. Her happy place is enjoying Cape Town’s nature while eating good food and her passion is making sure that every child knows that they are loved by God and challenging South Africans to connect with each other outside their comfort zone.

Alexa Russell Matthews, Adoption Support Coordinator

Alexa is a social worker with a Master’s degree in Play Therapy who has worked in corporate and clinical settings, including her own private practice, in Mozambique, Gauteng and Cape Town. At Arise she oversees Adoption Support and assists with Training and Consulting. 

Alexa & her husband have two boys who love to climb trees and be outdoors.  Alexa enjoys hiking, one on one conversations vs big crowds and believes that all children and families regardless of where they live, should be able to thrive.

Robyn Jacobs, Clinical Psychologist

Robyn is a clinical psychologist who develops our programme content and oversees our online Training and Consulting Services at Arise. Robyn previously worked in private practice on the Atlantic Seaboard and several government hospitals in Port Elizabeth and Kimberley, before joining the Arise Team five years ago.    

She is a wife, mom of two and avid chocoholic who loves a good book, a well organised plan and has a heart for seeing families thrive.

Siyabulela Tungani, Family Strengthening Facilitator

Siyabulela has years of experience working with children and families from various communities. He is a great networker and believes that all children should have unconditional love. He has experience working for the City of Cape Town as well as working with homelessness. He is deeply committed in sharing God’s love with all those he meets.    

He is a father of two girls and is deeply in love with his dear, Prieska. He loves the outdoors and enjoys the rolling hills of the Eastern Cape.

Katie Aijian, Communications & Events

Katie first visited South Africa a decade ago and has now moved here to learn from this beautiful nation! She has joined the team in a part time capacity to manage communications and the ever increasing events calendar.

Katie is from California originally so is on a quest to find good tacos in Cape Town, loves to watch stand up comedy and spend time with her husband and puppy!
